People often fall into the trap of thinking reflection and celebratory moments, like Blvck History Month, are meant to JUST celebrate the past. We are meant to celebrate past, present and future. Excellence is never just in the past. Black excellence is still here. This year, we focused on current Black artists that we enjoy listening to. Some of the songs are collaborations, others are spearheaded by Black talent, others involve Black drummers and beat makers but all these songs celebrate how expansive and influential Black artists are to the current music soundscape, all around the world.
